This year, Talson exhibited and led a panel discussion at the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors (AHIA) Annual Conference in Boston, MA which took place August 27-30. The panel was held on August 29th at 10AM and featured several seasoned auditing professionals within the healthcare industry.
Capital program activities have significantly increased in recent years generating the need to protect limited funding resources, provide transparency, establish objectivity, and reduce risks. Project stakeholders seek successfully executed projects that are on schedule and within budget meeting investment objectives. The Auditing Capital Projects panel will focus on how healthcare institutions assess risks on capital spending and develop and incorporate an internal audit strategy within their organization that utilizes both internal and external resources.
This interactive panel discussion includes established audit and facilities professionals who will discuss their capital project auditing experience, audit priorities and strategies to address capital program risk. Session participants will be introduced to the management and reporting of audit findings within organizations and externally to contractors/vendors. The discussion will include the impact the construction audit has on the procurement activities and capital project management with a goal of mitigating risks and assisting the organization in achieving project success within budget and on schedule.
